System collaboratives for organizational learning

Clinicians from all Steward hospitals convene to share best practices in the reduction of falls, hospital-acquired infections and prevention of skin ulcers.

At Steward, we take every opportunity to learn from each other and share best practices. Each year, priority areas are identified and caregivers and support staff come together to learn about the issues, identify proven methods of improvement, assign responsibility and accountability to team members, and set metrics to follow progress. The group then comes together on a monthly or quarterly basis to measure progress and share lessons learned to accelerate learning at all Steward locations.
